Hi, i am a new member and this is my first post so here goes, I have a m2 galaxy and it is an auto 1.9 tdi (115 bhp)

recently it started to mess about and the far rear windows stopped working then the windows behind driver stopped working and finally getting more often, the front windows stop and start as they feel fit. Oh and the central locking is working but i suspect gonna stop as it keeps flashing sometimes(the lights hazard style) and I believe this is all connected.

Yesterday I noticed that the interior lights underneath the dash and on the bottom of the doors stayed on when I locked the car. This obviously drained the battery.

While trawling the net i came across this site and thought you peeps might have abetter solution/idea as to what is wrong. TIA.

sounds to me that you need to investigate all the wiring between doors and door pillars(inside the rubber boots).

just an idea check under the passenger floor to see if there is any water?

also check to see if your scuttle drains are blocked?if so perhaps water is dripping onto the fuse board?

I took it to a garage today and found some wiring problem, wires that looked like they were cut and some were melting the insulation of the others.

Anyway after sorting that out the windows resumed operation but the bottom lights on the doors etc did not go off when doors locked.

Further investigation revealed on the Fuse PCB board a relay had some overheat marks on it,

Now I need a new PCB/fuse board or if I can get a relay for it solder one on....

What suggest you peeps. TIA

You were bob on Gregers, about the wiring in the doors, nice one mate.
